Three escape Cedar Rapids house fire
Three residents escaped unhurt from a fire in southwest Cedar Rapids last night.
The fire was reported at 658 15th Ave. SW just before 9:30 p.m.
Fire department spokesperson Greg Buelow said Kim Kruse was at home with her 7-year-old and 10-day-old sons when she smelled smoke in an upstairs bedroom. She and her sons made it out safely. A pet was also rescued.
Two bedrooms on the second floor of the single family dwelling sustained fire and smoke damage, Buelow said.
Firefighters respond to a fire at 658 15th Avenue SW Monday night. No one was hurt.
