Three children injured after vehicle collides with buggy

FAIRBANK - Three people were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a vehicle collided with their buggy near Fairbank in Buchanan County.
At about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in the 1700 block of Fairbank-Amish Boulevard, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
A pickup driven by Justin Annis, 33, of Fairbank, was traveling southbound when a southbound buggy moved into its path, according to the release. The pickup collided with the buggy, being driven by four juveniles, as it moved east, attempting to cross to a private drive.
Three of the children were transferred to University of Iowa hospitals. The severity of the injuries was not immediately known, said Sheriff Bill Wolfgram.
