The camera went live on Monday, according to the city of Cedar Rapids. The cameras at First Avenue and 10th Street and Second Avenue and 10th Street SE has been operational since February 12.
The 30-day grace warning period ends on Sunday. That includes the newest camera and any other cameras that will be added in the future. A press release will be sent as other intersections go active, giving their locations. They will also be listed on the Cedar Rapids Police Department web site.
There were 203 violations at these three locations from Feb. 14 through March 9, that were approved by Gatso USA. The Cedar Rapids Police Department reviewed these violations and rejected 12 of the 203 violations. The remaining 191 violations were sent to the registered owner with a warning letter.
