Thanksgiving holiday closures in the corridor

Most city and county offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving Weekend, November 26 through the 30th.
Emergency services including fire and police will be available, but city hall, county and federal courts will be closed through the weekend.
City buses will not run on Thanksgiving Day and they will be operating on a reduced schedule the following Friday.
The city parking office will be closed and meters will not be enforced over the four day weekend, but parkades will remain open.
The cities of Marion and Cedar Rapids will not be picking up garbage on Thanksgiving Day, but will resume services on Friday and into Saturday. Linn County landfills will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will operate under normal hours on the day before and the day after.
The Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Marion public libraries will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. Cedar Rapids Public Library will close early on Wednesday, November 25. Cedar Rapids and Marion libraries will resume normal hours the next day while Hiawatha will not reopen until Saturday, November 28.
All federal offices, including the post office, will close Thursday and reopen the next Monday, November 30.
The Iowa Department of Trasportation location in Cedar Rapids will be closed throughout Thanksgiving Weekend but will be open Monday, November 30, from 8 to 11 a.m.
The following Corridor departments and offices will be closed or have different hours in celebration of Thanksgiving:
CEDAR RAPIDS
- The City Clerk's Office will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- Linn County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- State courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- The federal courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- There will be no trash collection Thursday in Cedar Rapids.
- Linn County landfills will be closed Thursday.
- The Cedar Rapids Public Library will be closed Thursday.
- Cedar Rapids city buses will not run Thursday, but will be back to a normal schedule Friday.
- There will be no trash collection Thursday in Marion. Service will run a day late into Saturday.
- The Marion Public Library will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and will be closed Thursday.
- The Hiawatha Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- Iowa Department of Transportation driver's license stations will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- U.S. Postal Service offices will be closed Thursday. There will be no mail delivery.
- Parking meters will not be enforced Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
- The Iowa Department of Trasportation location in Cedar Rapids will be closed throughout Thanksgiving Weekend.
IOWA CITY
- All city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday
- Iowa City Transit will not operate Thursday. Buses will run on a Saturday schedule Friday.
- Parking meters will not be enforced and ramps will be free Thursday and Friday.
- The Iowa City Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday and remain closed Thursday. The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
- The Iowa City Senior Center will be closed Thursday and Friday with no meals served.
- The Robert A. Lee Recreation Center and Mercer Aquatic Center/Scanlon Gym will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday with pools closing at 3 p.m. All facilities will be closed Thursday. On Friday, offices will be closed with pools open from 1 to 8 p.m.
- The Iowa City Landfill will be closed Thursday.
- There will be no collection of refuse, recycling and yard waste Thursday. Thursday and Friday routes will be collected Friday.
- The Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed Thursday and open 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
- Johnson County Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday
- The Johnson County District Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday.
CORALVILLE
- All city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- The Coralville Public Library will open of 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Wednesday and be closed on Thursday and Friday.
- The Recreation Center and the Indoor Pool will be closed on Thursday and the Recreation Center will be open Friday from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm and the Indoor Pool will be open 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
- There will be no bus service Thursday, November 26. Bus service will run Saturday routes and schedule on Friday.
- Trash and recycling scheduled for Thursday will be picked up on Wednesday. Trash and recycling for Friday, November 27 will be picked up on Monday.
