Teenager arrested for robbing Kwik Shop

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids teenager was arrested Wednesday after police say he robbed Kwik Shop at 2904 Center Point Road NE with what appeared to be a handgun and a shirt covering his face.

Mitchell Molitor, 16, was charged with robbery in the second degree.

According to the criminal complaint, Molitor entered the Kwik Shop at 2904 Center Point Road NEW and displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the clerk working give him cash.

The clerk emptied both the registers and was then asked to fill several bags with tobacco products.

Molitor then fled in an SUV but was later stopped at 3:03 a.m. by officers, according to the complaint, who noticed the stolen merchandise inside the vehicle.

Molitor was taken to the station and confessed to the offense, according to the complaint.
