Teen in serious condition after crash in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - Police aren't releasing many details about an accident involving a vehicle earlier today, but a 19-year-old teen male is in serious condition at Mercy Hospital.
Police responded to reports of a car accident just before 1 p.m. near the intersection of 36th Street and Mount Vernon Road SE. The 19-year-old was injured when he exited a vehicle, according to Sgt. Cristy Hamblin of the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
The victim's name has not been released and police are still investigating the accident.
