Swimmer identified who drowned at Lake Macbride

SOLON — The swimmer who drowned in Lake Macbride on Wednesday has been identified as a 20-year-old Iowa City man.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday said the body of Yonathan Rivera-Brito was recovered at 2:55 p.m.
A person called the sheriff’s office at 1:14 p.m., saying an individual was struggling to swim in the lake at the state park near Solon.
Emergency crews launched boats, and the Johnson County Metro Dive Team recovered the body, the sheriff’s office said.
The medical examiner transported the to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for an autopsy.
The incident remains under investigation, authorities said.
