UPDATE: Officers in SWAT gear and carrying rifles took multiple people into custody after traffic stop Monday afternoon in Cedar Rapids.
Just before the stop was made, police said the vehicle left a house at 1431 Fifth Ave. SE, where officers were executing a narcotics search warrant. Officers pulled over the pickup around 1:30 p.m. at the corner of 15th Street and A Avenue NE.
Two men in the vehicle were arrested, police said. Kent Stevens, 21, was taken into custody on suspicion of disorderly house, based on the evidence found during the search of his residence. Police said they seized items that indicated drug use, along with guns and ammunition.
Another man in the vehicle, Jonathan Kirkpatrick, 19, was charged with possession of a controlled substance when he was found with a small amount of marijuana. The female driver of the pickup was not arrested.
An investigation is continuing.
