Suspect who rammed police car during chase is arrested

University Heights police arrested an Iowa City man on Sunday who they say who rammed a police car during a vehicle pursuit with a stolen sport-utility vehicle on Friday.
Jesse M. Davis, 18, of Gleason Drive in Iowa City, was taken into custody about 8:15 p.m., Sunday according to Sgt. Brad Reinhard.
Davis admitted he was the driver of the vehicle. He was identified after an Iowa City officer recognized the description of the suspect, Reinhard said.
Davis was arrested on suspicion of eluding police, second-degree theft, assault on a peace officer with a dangerous weapon, second-degree criminal mischief, interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance, and 19 traffic offenses.
