Lyndsey Wright has taken a lot of cake smash photos through the years.
Taking photos of babies covered in cake and frosting is always fun, but she starting asking clients if their little one had a favorite food they'd want to showcase them 'smashing.” Wright has taken photos of kids 'smashing” doughnuts, ice cream, spaghetti and Popsicles. But she wanted a taco smash.
She found the perfect clients in Jordan and Ben Ogden of Cedar Rapids. The Ogdens were planning a fiesta-themed first birthday party for their daughter, Stella.
'She lucked out when she found out Stella's first foods were rice and beans, and that she was a Mexican food lover,” Jordan Ogden said. 'So much in fact, that her first birthday (party) was Mexican inspired all because of her love for the food.”
Jordan Ogden shared a photo of Stella's taco smash to the Love What Matters Facebook page, and Love What Matters shared it.
The photos were taken Feb. 4 and the post of Stella's taco smash photos have gone viral.
Wright and the Ogdens have been contacted by Babble.com, Country Living, The Daily Mail, Scary Mommy, Love What Matters, Crafty Morning, Popsugar.com, Essentialbaby.com, littlethings.com, abcnews.go.com and other news outlets across the globe to share the photos.
'I am absolutely shocked that this session has gotten so big,” Wright said. 'I had a feeling it would be a big hit, but I never would have anticipated news stations across the country would air it.”
