State of Linn County luncheon is Wednesday

CEDAR RAPIDS - Area residents are invited to the annual luncheon focused on all things Linn County.
Hosted by the League of Women Voters Linn County, the 2017 State of the County luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, 7725 Kirkwood Boulevard SW in Cedar Rapids. The presentation portion of the event begins at noon.
Brent Oleson, chairman of the Linn County Board of Supervisors, will share the county's recent successes and challenges, as well as respond to questions from the audience.
Other speakers include Linn County Auditor Joel Miller and Les Beck, director of planning and development and chairman of Linn County's customer-centered culture steering committee. Linn County Risk Manager Steve Estenson is to speak about the county's response to the 2016 flood.
Seating is free at the event, while a meal costs $40.
