State board reprimands Anamosa funeral home directors

Goettsch Funeral Homes directors Kevin Smith and Jonathan Scranton were reprimanded by the Iowa Board of Mortuary Science for failing to give clients statements of funeral services and general price lists.
The Anamosa funeral home and the two were fined a total of $2,250 and their licenses were placed on probation for one year.
According to the board, the two indicated they routinely failed to secure signatures on a statement of funeral goods and services when funeral arrangements are made and leave copies of their general price list on a table instead of affirmatively providing the list to families.
