Sprinkler helps contain Valley Junction fire
N/A

Authorities say a fire sprinkler contained a fire that could have caused a lot of damage in Valley Junction in West Des Moines.
The fire broke out Sunday morning in a building in the historic neighborhood that's home to shops, businesses and restaurants.
The fire caused smoke damage on the first and second floors of the building.
West Des Moines Fire Marshal Mike Whitsell says the potential cause was an electrical blower in a utility room.
Whitsell says the damage could have spread to adjacent buildings if the fire wasn't partially contained by a fire sprinkler.
