We all know what they say about mail carriers and bad weather, but who knew delivery people followed the same creed?
Yet there was Jeff Rebischke of U.S. Food Service delivering food to the Bruegger's Bagel Bakery in downtown Iowa City Wednesday morning.
He started his workday in Cedar Rapids before coming down to Iowa City and planned to hit Riverside, Bettendorf and Dyersville, if he had time.
“It's slow going,” said Rebischke, 50. “I'm probably about two to three hours behind.”
He said driving his semitrailer in places with tight turns and big snow piles like downtown Iowa City was much more difficult than being on the interstate in bad weather. And then there's the huge snow drifts to dodge on the way into stores, although a path was cleared into Bruegger's.
