Police said the car hit the pole around 7:30 a.m. along Ellis Boulevard NW, near Ellis Lane NW. The single-vehicle crash toppled the wooden pole and brought down power lines that blocked the street.
The driver, 16-year-old Sabrina Scolero, was charged with failure to maintain control, police said. The street has since reopened.
