Sinclair fire finally out

After a few days of firefighting and a few weeks of baby-sitting, Cedar Rapids firefighters packed up and said goodbye to the Sinclair property fire early Wednesday afternoon.
The fire began at around 6:36 a.m. on Dec. 15, and spread to the installations eight interconnected buildings, many of which were three stories high, and encompassed around 125,000 square feet.
Firefighters handled a smaller scale blaze at the facility back in July.
Fire officials said that crews had dumped millions of gallons of water on the property since the fire broke out, but that crews of six have been at the site over the past week making sure that the smoldering remains stayed under control
