DUBUQUE - J.D. Dudek's second-period goal proved the difference as the Dubuque Fighting Saints edged the short-handed Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 3-2, in USHL hockey Friday night at Mystique Ice Center.
Cedar Rapids (21-8) has lost five of six and hosts Bloomington on Saturday night at 7:05. Sickness has hit the team, and the Riders played two skaters short of the 19 maximum allowed in a lineup.
Erik Foley, who missed Wednesday night's game at Green Bay because of illness, had both C.R. goals. They came 30 seconds into the first period and 48 into the second.
Ryan Larkin took the loss in net. Dubuque outshot the RoughRiders by a 32-19 margin, including 10-1 in the third period.
