Short chase ends with Coggon man's arrest
Authorities arrested a Coggon man after a chase through northern Linn County late Sunday.
Deputies tried to stop Harold E. Wieland Jr., 49, while he was driving through Central City, but he would not pull over. He proceeded to take Highway 13 north at speeds of 35 to 55 miles per hour, until deputies were able to stop him near Coggon.
Sheriff Brian Gardner said Wieland had a warrant out for his arrest for driving while barred and was trying to get to his residence.
No injuries or property damage was reported. Wieland was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail.
