Shooting death near New Hampton under investigation

Chickasaw County Sheriff Marty Larsen says his department has called in the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to look into a shooting death.
Larsen says officers were called to a residence at 2064 165th Street around 11:55 last night. The area is north of New Hampton.
Officers found one shooting victim at the scene, and the DCI's crime scene unit was called in. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
Sheriff Larsen says his department has made one arrest at the scene, but that the person was not charged with anything related to the shooting. He did stress that he did not believe the public was at risk.
