The sexual abuse trial of former University of Iowa football player Cedric Everson trial has been set for July 7, 2010 at 9 a.m.
After Sixth Judicial District Judge Marsha Beckelman said any further continuances in either case are prohibited without the approval of Chief Sixth District Judge Patrick Grady, the final pretrial conference is set for July 2, according to Johnson County District Court documents filed Friday.
If Everson fails to personally appear at any court hearing his bail can be altered, and a warrant for his arrest may be issued, according to court documents filed by Judge Beckelman.
Everson, 20, is charged with second-degree sexual assault for his alleged involvement in rape of a female former UI student athlete in October 2007. Former teammate Abe Satterfield, 21, is charged with second- and third-degree sexual abuse for the same incident.
Satterfield's trial set for April 12.
They have pleaded not guilty.
