Sex offender escapes Cedar Rapids work release facility

Area law enforcement officials have sent out an alert after a sex offender who was found guilty of sex abuse in Linn County escaped from the Larry Nelson Work Release Facility in Cedar Rapids.
According to a release, Dylan Scott Frink, 28, was given a lifetime supervision sentence after being convicted for third-degree sexual abuse. He was on a work release dating Sept. 25, 2014 and failed to return to the facility during an authorized temporary furlough. He was marked as being an escapee fromn custody as of Sunday, Jan. 4.
Frink is being described as being five feet, seven inches in height and weighs 169 pounds. The release lists him as being caucasian, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos on his abdomen, left ankle, right calf, right cheek, left forearm, right forearm, left hand, right hand, and right wrist.
Authorities are asking that individals who know Frink's whereabouts should report them to the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5458 or Linn County Sheriff's Department at (319) 892-6100.
