Session examines issues for African-Americans

CEDAR RAPIDS -- “The Status of African Americans in Cedar Rapids” will be the focus of a community session this weekend at the African American Museum of Iowa, 55 12th Ave. SE.
The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12, is free and open to the public.
It will include a panel featuring local professionals from fields such as health care, education and criminal justice. Introductions will be followed by a discussion of the issues African-Americans face in the Cedar Rapids community.
The session will conclude with lunch and a social hour from 1 to 2 p.m.
