Service members, vets get break on pet fees
CEDAR RAPIDS - Veterans, as well as active and reserve members of the military, can adopt any pet from the Cedar Valley Humane Society for half off the usual adoption fee over the Veterans Day weekend.
The Pets for Vets adoption special runs from Nov. 11 to 13 at the society's shelter, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE in Cedar Rapids. Participants must show a valid military ID or other proof of service, and standard adoption processes apply.
“This is a win-win,” said Bob Citrullo, the society's executive director. “We are finding a good home for pets and giving our heroes a special addition to their families at the same time.”
