SUMNER – A Wellsburg man was hurt when a semi-trailer truck ran off the road and wound up in a creek bed Wednesday.
Fayette County authorities said David Deike, 59, was eastbound on 150th Street near S Avenue around 11:45 a.m. when he lost control of the semi. The rig went into the north ditch, through a barbed-wire fence and across a pasture where it stopped in the creek bed, deputies said.
Deike was taken by ambulance to Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner, where he was treated for shoulder and arm injuries, scrapes and bruises.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
