MOLINE, Ill. - The search continues for $13,000 that was stuffed into an old suit and inadvertently donated to a Goodwill store in Moline.
According to Dana Engelbert, spokesperson for Goodwill of the Heartland, every item that was searched between the Moline store where the suit was donated, and an Iowa City warehouse, will be combed over again.
"I don't know how long that will take," Engelbert said in an e-mail.
Engelbert said employees also looked through non-seasonal items temporarily stored at the warehouse, noting the description of the gray suit was general, and the 80-year-old Moline man who made the indirect donation could not determine the exact date the suit was given to Goodwill.
The man, who remains anonymous, was using his savings to help his wife's cancer battle.
A $1,000 reward is still on the table for anyone who returns the money.
