YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - What a difference a week makes.
Adam Gaudette had a goal and two assists, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders bashed the Youngstown Phantoms, 6-1, Saturday night in USHL hockey.
Youngstown won twice at Cedar Rapids last weekend, with former RoughRiders goalie Chris Birdsall getting both victories. But Birdsall was knocked out of this game after giving up four goals in two periods, including three in the second.
The teams play again Saturday night at Youngstown's Covelli Center.
The Phantoms scored the game's first goal very late in the first period against winning goaltender Ben Blacker, but Andrew Gaus tied things just 42 seconds later. Andrew Oglevie, Cal Burke and Hugh McGing had second-period goals for the RoughRiders, with Erik Foley and Gaudette adding markers in the third.
Eleven different players had at least one point for Cedar Rapids, which improved its league-best standings point total to 54 (on a 27-10 record).
