Rockwell Collins joint venture wins $80 million-plus in contracts
Vision Systems International, jointly owned by Rockwell Collins and Elbit Systems of America, has received several new contracts worth more than $80 million.
VSI has been awarded contracts for its joint helmet-mounted cueing system by the Boeing Co. for U.S. and foreign military sales (FMS), the U.S. Navy and other international sales.
Under the production contracts, the company will provide the helmet-mounted display systems, including spares, technical support and ground support equipment. The contract fulfills U.S. government domestic requirements for the U.S. Navy and spares commitments to a number of countries operating F-16 and F/A-18 aircraft. Deliveries will begin this year and continue through 2011.
