Robber caught after grabbing bank bag from Cedar Falls HuHot

Cedar Falls police say officers captured a man shortly after he allegedly snatched a bank bag from a restaurant employee.

Cedar Falls Police Chief Jeff Olson says a worker with HuHot Mongolian Grill was making a bank run early Friday when she was approached by a man who grabbed the bag and ran off.

Olson says the employee called authorities. Officers from the Cedar Falls and University of Northern Iowa police departments, Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol converged on the scene.

Police surrounded the area and eventually arrested a suspect, who was not immediately identified. It wasn't clear if a weapon was used in the crime.

Olson said no injuries were reported in the incident.
