Riceville man convicted of possessing child pornography

A Riceville man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to possession of child pornography.
Adam Haacke, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing the child pornography. During the plea hearing, Haacke admitted that he had child pornography on a computer hard drive between 2014 and 2015.
Haacke faces up to 20 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and five years of supervised release following his prison term. Sentencing hasn't been set at this time. Haacke was taken into custody following the hearing.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Tremmel and was investigated by the Hancock County and Mitchell County Sheriff's offices and the Mason City Police Department.
