CEDAR RAPIDS - Three retailers have signed leases for the new Berthel Fisher Financial Center at 42nd Street and Edgewood Road NE in Cedar Rapids.
Massage Heights franchise partner Angela Linden will open her second Massage Heights Retreat in December. Linden operates a similar facility in Coralville's Iowa River Landing.
Massage Heights Edgewood, slated to employ 25, will offer a variety of custom massage treatments, including deep tissue, Swedish, sports therapy, prenatal and reflexology.
Massage Heights also will offer custom Dermalogica skin treatments, including Anti-Aging, Sensitive Skin, Clear Skin and Brightening. Linden plans to offer her team of licensed massage therapists enhanced training to become certified 'medical massage therapists.”
Linden also will bring a second franchise, WineStyles Tasting Station, to the retail wing of the Berthel Fisher complex. The West Des Moines-based business offers wines categorized by style and taste, rather than by variety or region, which helps to simplify the shopping experience.
WineStyles Tasting Station in Cedar Rapids also will open in December. To celebrate, the store will give away wine or beer glasses to the first 100 customers who join the retailer's wine or craft beer club.
Linden was introduced to the WineStyles concept in 2006, when she became a wine club member of the West Des Moines location.
'I was new to wine and wanted to learn more,” Linden said in a news release. 'After I joined as a member and attended the weekly wine tastings, my palate evolved and great friendships were formed with other club members.”
Greg Swartzendruber, director of business development at Hunter Companies, which is developing the Berthel Fisher Financial Center, said Capriotti's, a Las Vegas-based fast casual restaurant chain, will be opening its second Cedar Rapids location in the complex. Capriotti's has an existing location at 4640 First Ave. NE next to Best Buy.
Swartzendruber said leases are pending with a coffeehouse and an Iowa-based regional restaurant chain. He said Berthel Fisher will begin moving into its 47,000 square feet of office space in February.
