CEDAR RAPIDS — A fire Sunday morning displaced residents of a northeast Cedar Rapids home.
According to a news release, fire crews were called to a two-story home 141 Carnaby Dr. NE at 11:13 a.m. Sunday after a resident reported seeing flames and smoke inside. One group of firefighters found a small fire in the kitchen, around the base of the oven and dishwasher, and a second group found fire in and around an electrical panel in the basement. Both fires were quickly extinguished, officials said.
The home sustained moderate fire and smoke damage. The residents were displaced and received aid from the American Red Cross, but no injuries were reported.
