Rescuers recover driver's body from Cedar River in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - Crews have pulled a vehicle from the Cedar River in Waterloo and recovered the body of the driver.
The Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier reports that authorities recovered the vehicle about 8 p.m. Sunday. No information about the driver was available.
Earlier, firefighters had raced to reach the driver after witnesses say the vehicle plunged into the river near the Sans Souci Bridge. The recovery effort began about 12:40 P.M.
Divers later were called off because of the strong current.
