Report of a pedestrian accident in Cedar Rapids now considered an assault
CEDAR RAPIDS - An incident that began as a suspected accident involving a pedestrian is now being investigated as an assault, Cedar Rapids police said Sunday.
Officers were called to a person down in the area of Second Avenue and 11th Street SW at 7:06 p.m. Sunday. Based on a witness report, police initially believed they were responding to an accident involving a pedestrian.
However, police now consider the incident to be an assault, according to a news release.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further details were available Sunday night.
