Judge Paul Miller heard a few motions today in the case involving former University of Iowa football player Cedric Everson, but the jury will not hear the defense case until Tuesday.
Prosecutors rested their case against Everson Wednesday after two days of testimony. Defense attorney Leon Spies indicated that his witnesses should take half a day when testimony in the trial resumes Tuesday.
Everson, a 21-year-old former football player, is charged with second-degree sex abuse, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
