Regents approve UI naming of Carver addition
WEST DES MOINES - The state Board of Regents here Tuesday approved a University of Iowa plan to name the new addition to Carver-Hawkeye Arena the Dale and Marilyn Howard Family Pavilion.
The Howards gave $5 million to support the recently completed project. The new addition includes practice gyms for the basketball teams and women's volleyball team, as well as new and improved strength and conditioning space for UI teams.
Dale Howard, who earned his UI degree in physical education in 1955, is owner and president of Dale Howard, Inc., an automobile dealership in Iowa Falls.
