Realtor seeks Iowa City Council seat

IOWA CITY - Area Realtor Tim Conroy has announced his bid for Iowa City Council.
Conroy is the son of Frank Conroy, former Director of the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop, who died in 2005, has announced his plans to run for one of Iowa City's at-large council seats in this November election.
Conroy is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. He serves on the UI Museum of Art Member's Council, the campaign cabinet for United Way of Johnson and Washington counties, and belongs to the Iowa City Downtown Rotary Chapter, according to his campaign website.
'It is truly an honor to be running for Iowa City Council. I look forward to meeting with more people in the community, and listening to ideas on how we can make Iowa City an even better place,” Conroy said on his candidate website.
Conroy, who works at real estate company Blank and McCune, will face a growing field of at-large candidates, including attorney Rockne Cole and current council members Jim Throgmorton and Michelle Payne.
