Rayhons found not guilty of sexual abuse against wife with dementia

GARNER - A Hancock County jury has declared a former north Iowa state epresentative not guilty of third-degree sexual abuse.
The verdict was delivered around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Henry Rayhons, 78, was charged with a felony for allegedly having sex with his wife, Donna Lou Rayhons, who was suffering from dementia and according to prosecutors, unable to consent.
The alleged incident took place on May 23, 2014, while Donna Lou was a resident of Concord Care Center in Garner.
She later died in a Hampton care center.
The trial began April 8. Wednesday marked the third day of jury deliberations.
