Marion police continue to seek clues about a masked man who robbed Linn County State Bank three weeks ago.
Investigators have not been able to identify the gunman who took money from the bank, 1295 Blairs Ferry Rd., on the morning of Dec. 30.
Lt. Scott Elam said police reviewed earlier surveillance footage to see if anyone might have been casing the bank.
"There are some people that haven't been eliminated that I don't think look so good," Elam said.
Elam said anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a reward. The amount is dependent on the information provided, he said.
The male suspect entered the bank around 9:55 a.m. on Dec. 30 and showed a handgun before fleeing with cash. He was last seen running south
The robber wore dark-colored Carhartt-type jacket, a light-colored mask, gloves, black and white tennis shoes, and bluejeans. His race is not known.
No one was injured.
It was the second robbery at the bank in 10 months. Two suspects were charged in the first robbery.
Bank President and CEO Bill Ajram said security improvements have been made since the Dec. 30 heist.
"We've beefed up and increased our camera systems, and we've also added additional security measures," Ajram said.
Elam said most bank robberies are committed by people who know the area. He said police have no reason to think otherwise in this case.
Ajram said he isn't sure how confident he is that the robber will be caught.
"At this point, our role is to secure our bank and provide a safe environment for our staff and customers," Ajram said.
Anyone with additional information about the Dec. 30 robbery is asked to call the Marion Police Department at (319) 377-1511.
