A public hearing about the proposed precincts in rural Johnson County will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room at the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque Street, a press release indicates.
According to the release, a draft ordinance would reduce the number of unincorporated and small city precincts from 24 to 20 in Johnson County. The overall number of county precincts would remain at 57.
Proposed changes in the precinct plan would affect voters in Clear Creek, East Lucas, Lincoln, Madison, Monroe and Pleasant Valley Townships.
A detailed description of the proposed changes is below. More information is available on the Johnson County Auditor website.
