Print production issues again impacting today’s edition of The Gazette
Enjoy complimentary access of Green Gazette

Dear Gazette subscribers,
I don’t like these issues two weeks in a row, but another multi-hour production issue at the Des Moines printing facility will have significant impact on printing and delivery of today’s Gazette. As of writing this at 1:30 a.m., we still have about 9,000 copies of the paper to be printed. This means that will again have to improvise on the Sunday delivery plan. We are asking folks enjoy complimentary access to today’s edition via the Green Gazette.
Because of the multi-hour delay, we will do our best to hit as much of home delivery as we can this morning. Any areas that do not get their papers this morning will be completed with delivery of Monday’s edition. We remain hopeful that we can make single copies of the paper for sale at area retail outlets Sunday.
On behalf of the entire Gazette team, we are profoundly sorry for this interruption to home delivery. As I mentioned last week, we are developing alternatives to prevent the impact of press issues from recurring. Implementation of the plan -- which involves changing production schedules and printing of the sections -- takes a couple of weeks because it involves changing a variety of things -- including when content is due so that it can be printed in advance. Those efforts have begun, but could not be switched quickly enough to alleviate pressure this morning.
I appreciate your patience.
Thanks,
Zack Kucharski
