Eastern Iowa allergy sufferers should see a reprieve this weekend.
Pollen levels should taper off after peaking during a few hot and humid days earlier this week.
Experts say this year could be one of the worst for allergies, based in part on heavy snow and rain earlier in the season that led to a proliferation of tree pollen.
With rain and cooler temperatures this weekend, the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Corridor pollen forecast shows moderate levels for Saturday, May 14, 2011, followed by low levels on Sunday.
Predominant pollens include birch, ash and oak, according to Pollen.com
