A Taser helped police take a Mount Vernon man into custody on multiple warrants and drug charges Wednesday.
Mount Vernon police and Iowa State Patrol officers were serving multiple warrants on Mark W. Snively, 42, at his home at 1002 W. Palisades Rd. Wednesday when Snively attempted to destroy narcotics evidence and resisted officers' commands, officials said.
The Taser was deployed after Snively struggled with officers, according to a news release from Mount Vernon police.
Officers obtained a warrant and used a K-9 officer to search the home, finding drugs and paraphernalia, officials said.
Snively was charged with possession of a controlled substance and interference with official acts, as well as the initial warrants. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment before being taken to the Linn County Jail.
