Police searching for inmate missing from work release facility

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the Coralville Police Department are looking for a man who escaped from Hope House in Coralville.

Early Sunday morning around 5:35 a.m. officials saw that Lorenzo Jones, 25, was missing from the minimum security work release facility.

Jones is described as an African American male, who weighs 216 pounds, is 5 feet 9 inches tall, with black hair and dark eyes. He has tattoos on his upper left arm, upper right arm, and left forearm.

He was sentenced to prison for five years in 2008 for willful injury causing bodily injury and was been granted a work release by the Iowa Board of Parole March 2.

Information as to Jones' whereabouts should be reported to the Coralville Police Department or Johnson County Sheriff's Department.
