Police search for missing Coe College student
A search is under way for missing Coe College student Carolyn Baumgartner.
Cedar Rapids police Sgt. Joe Clark said Baumgartner, 19, has been reported missing by other students on campus. She was last seen Wednesday afternoon.
Police are investigating the situation as a missing person's adult case. Clark said it does not appear foul play is involved, but investigators are following leads.
Coe spokesman Rod Pritchard confirmed that a student, who he did not identify, was last seen between 2 and 3 p.m. Wednesday on campus.
The school sent out a campus-wide email last night telling everyone the case did not appear to be foul play. The email also said to contact local authorities with any information.
