Police say Muscatine man sexually abused 4-year-old

A Muscatine man has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse for allegedly fondling a 4-year-old.
The Muscatine Journal reports that 28-year-old Andrew Mayfield is being held at the Muscatine County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren says Mayfield was charged as a juvenile with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Mercer County, Ill., in 1999. He was found guilty by a judge in December 1999.
According to police, Mayfield admitted to the allegations during an interview.
