Police say man tried to rape woman in UI dorm room

A Coralville man is accused of trying to force his hand between a woman's legs and force her to touch his penis in a University of Iowa dormitory last month.

Ave. PL Apt. 1, faces a charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse with no injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by two years in prison and a $6,250 fine.
The alleged incident took place March 26 in Stanley Residence Hall.
Eberhart is accused of hugging a woman without her permission and not stopping when she asked. He then tried to force his hand between her legs to spread them, according to a University of Iowa criminal complaint.
He also tried to force the woman to touch his penis and was again told no, police said. He tried to lie on top of the woman and kiss her neck and chest, and the alleged victim was able to force Eberhart off of her, police said.
