Police say convicted felon had gun when he stole laptop in Iowa City

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of third degree theft and possession of a firearm as a felon after authorities say he entered a home at 590 Foster Road and stole a laptop computer.
According to reports, Lawrence C. Glover, address unknown, allegedly robbed the home at 590 Foster Road and stole a HP mini laptop computer on Oct. 21, 2009. At around 10:40 p.m. that day, an officer located a vehicle in the 1000 block of Crosspark Road in Coralville. The driver was identified as Glover.
Iowa City police say that Glover, a convicted felon in Illinois, fled the scene. During a search of the vehicle, the laptop reported stolen was located in the trunk of the vehicle, along with a .45 caliber handgun.
Glover was being held at the Johnson County Jail for another jurisdiction Tuesday morning. He is currently being held for another jurisdiction.
Possession of a firearm as a felon is a class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum $7,500 fine. Third degree theft is an aggravated misdemeanor.
