CEDAR RAPIDS - Police continue to search for suspects involved in a shooting Friday night in southeast Cedar Rapids.
Bevon Forbes, 18, of Marion, was shot once in the left buttocks and suffered a broken femur in the incident, police said. Officers were already in the area around 6:15 p.m. when they heard three gunshots near the intersection of 15th Street and Washington Avenue SE.
Forbes was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, where information about his condition was not being released. Police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
According to a police report, Forbes and another man were walking down the sidewalk when someone started shooting at them. Three suspects wearing black clothing ran from the area.
Police said witnesses reported several subjects were possibly exchanging gunfire before the subjects took off running in several directions. Forbes and the man he was with did not admit to firing any shots when they were interviewed, police said.
No arrests had been made in the case by Monday.
