CEDAR RAPIDS - Police are investigating a robbery at the Guaranty Bank branch at 191 Jacolyn Dr. NW, that led to a foot-chase Thursday afternoon.
Officials responded to a report of a robbery at Guaranty Bank around 1:50 p.m. when officials were led on a foot chase. According to police, a subject described as a black male, 6 feet tall, with sunglasses, a ball cap and a gray sweatshirt entered the bank. The subject left northbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of money towards Jacolyn Park.
As a precautionary measure, Hoover elementary school, 4141 Johnson Ave. NW, was placed on a brief lock down as officials searched the area.
Officials on scene reported no injuries occurred during the robbery, and will not comment if a weapon was involved.
The same bank branch was robbed in October 2008 and in March 2003.
The robbery remains under investigation.
