Police officers found blood on a car, but no driver or passenger when the wreck along Highway 30 was reported early Tuesday.
Police responded to the westbound exit ramp at C Street around 6 a.m. and found the car in tall grass. It appeared from tracks in the grass that the driver didn't negotiate the curve and the car rolled several times, police said.
Sgt. Brian Been said firefighters were called out to use their night vision equipment to search for anyone who might have been in the car. They also moved the car to make sure no one was underneath it.
Been said another officer was assigned to check the registered owner's home, but he did not know the outcome of that check.
The car was towed away. An investigation was continuing.
